Former Michigan State Department Employee Charged With Embezzlement
Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox announced on Tuesday that a former state Department employee, Sandra May Wentworth, pled guilty to 3 counts of embezzlement for embezzling more than $300,000 from the department of Veterans Affairs. Wentworth used a state credit card issued to her in her capacity as a buyer and manager for Veteran's Affairs to buy more than $300,000 in illegal purchases that allegedly included a plasma television, equipment for her family-owned bowling alley business, personal exercise equipment, and furniture for her home.
